Raising Up a Generation

Our Vision

Our Churches and youth groups are bursting with high school students who have the potential to be change agents in their world, in their Church and in their country. We want to come beside what God is already doing in these young leaders and help raise up a generation to reach this nation.

Imagine the ripple affects in eternity, if we can pour into the students that have the passion, desire, and willingness to be influencers in their world. Excalibur is designed as an eight-month experience to develop those students, to help them tap into the leader God is already starting to form in them. We want to build students up, to send them back to their communities, their schools, their youth groups, and their churches better equipped to reach their world.

A Message from Karra

“I grew up watching my dad pour into the next generation. I got a front row seat at life transformation in teenagers through youth ministry, but especially through Excalibur. My father and Dr. Steve Brown (who is now the President of Arrow Leadership) dreamt together about influencing the influencers in youth groups across Ontario. They started Excalibur in 1999 and through it saw many teenagers–myself included!– fall more in love with Jesus and learn how to lead well. Our church continued to grow, but we had no one to take up the call to run Excalibur. As a result, the decision was made to put it to rest for a season, with a hope that one day it would be revived.

We are excited that that day has now come! God has been shaping the vision of Excalibur from where it was to an even greater vision of impacting our nation through developing young people. When a young leader is developed, the ripple effect reaches further then we could even imagine or fully understand. We (with the help of some youth experts in Ontario) have re-imagined the program as one that goes beyond just three weekends away; it will now be an immersive eight-month experience that includes mentoring and video-training between weekends.

We are excited to partner with God as He raises up a generation to reach a nation and cannot wait to see all that He will do in and through the students who journey with us.”

Would come to know Jesus more intimately:

By developing a creative devotional life and methods of examining scripture
By learning ways to pray, listen and respond to His voice
By encountering God’s redemptive forgiveness and freedom in the midst of sin

Would grow in their understanding of gifts and personal leadership:

By developing practical leadership skills and understanding and their gifting
By learning to understand their faith more deeply and share it with others

Would be able to use their gifts and talents more in their local Church:

By fostering a love for the local-church and how God is inviting them to part of it
By gaining more of an understanding of the early Church and why Jesus loves the Church
By learning how to lead up and humbly serve the Church in their local context
